Holy Gold! Guess what was $5.00 at a yard sale?? Yep, this beauty! It was outdated and grungy, but had loads of character! We also bought the chest of drawers that matched, but it was in total disrepair. Mr. Dump stomped his foot (okay, not really) and declared, "NOT WORTH IT!"
RIP (Rest in Pieces) to the chest of drawers that we couldn't salvage...
We painted the whole thing French gray (that sounds fancy, right?!?) and distressed the edges. We also painted the pulls black. I love how touches of the gold shine through!
Now it looks classy, vintage, and can serve as either a buffet or dresser!
I have my project list ready and can't wait to show you what I have in store for this week! Keep checking back (or Follow Me) to see daily updates!
Happy Junkin'!
Sarah
Love it, of course, as I love everything that you do. I mourn for the dresser that Mr. Dumped couldn't save though - that might have been just what I was looking for! Doesn't he know he is supposed to be working on a dresser for his sister-in-law? Don't let him forget it!
ReplyDeleteLola,
ReplyDeleteIf I could have saved this, I would have! There wasn't enough wood glue in the world for these drawers to have stayed together! As soon as we took each drawer out of the chest, they crumbled...
Note: check drawers before purchases
wonderful transformation.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking!!! @Lola
ReplyDeleteThat is such a deal! I found the same dresser and paid $35 for mine. Are the drawer fronts plastic like mine is? But, the rest of the drawers are wood construction?
