Sometimes I like to play a little game called "Grab it and Paint it." There's no planning, there's no fretting, there's just painting. My sister found this adorable table that desperately needed a makeover. My mom had a little black paint left over in the sprayer (yes - I've gotten my mother into this hobby too) so I sprinted to the basement and grabbed this beauty.

30 minutes later plus a knob change... And here she is... (30 minutes might be a little exaggeration... I distressed, brushed on some poly, and drooled on it a couple of times)...
Don't you LOOOOVE that beautiful window behind the table?!? More projects with that baby soon!
Happy Junkin'!

ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful table. I love taking old furniture and making it new again. I am looking now for a dresser with character to paint and put it in my upstairs bathroom for storage. Well, when the bathroom gets finished that is. I will be stopping in more to view your future projects.

P.S. I love this table!
Love your style. And I do love that old window. I have some old shutters that I need to redo too. All of sudden, you've motivated me. I found you on the Aloha blog hop. I'm Leslie @ Gwen Moss blog (the decision that changed my life)
ReplyDeleteDid I tell you that I found this table at an estate sale where the home was literally WALLPAPERED with every playbill, newspaper article, picture from a magazine, etc. that the homeowner experienced/found interesting? It was like being in Alice in Wonderland or something - fascinating and a little creepy. This table must be so happy to look so classy and updated! Lord knows what it has seen in its day! Great job!
