All You Need Is Love (and White Paint)

Hello, Junkers!

In an effort to keep up with the rest of the blogging world, I too am here to bring you a little Valentine's Day inspiration.  I would like to show you how we celebrate...Dumped and Discovered style!!!

The theme for our celebration is...

ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE
(and white paint)

We inherited these end tables from Mr. Dump's parents.  They inherited them from a friend, who inherited them from a friend, who inherited them from another friend....and so on!  The main point being that they were FREE!!!!!!! (insert happy music here)  What screams LOVE more than FREE?!?!?

They had character and were in GREAT shape!!!  Unfortunately, we don't get along well with "great shape" and had to rough them up a bit.  We took some sandpaper (120 grit) and lightly sanded these babies.  Next we added some white paint (2 coats)...and VIOLA!!!!  LOVE!!!!!

Don't worry...we  aren't using them like this...

After the paint dried, we took the same 120 grit sandpaper and kissed (another Valentine's word) the edges with them!  This project was EASY-PEAZY!!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day...and Junkin'!!!

Sarah

  14. Found you through the linky hop and I have now officially read every.single.post here! lol Seriously though, we're having money issues and trying to redo our house and being only a couple of hours from Staunton ourselves I think I might go take a look around soon! I've been to so many places that have older stuff only to find their prices more outrageous than new stuff! Worth it usually, but still, I'd love to find some of the finds you've got on your blog, the hutches are to die for! Right now I'm looking for a couple of cabinets I could modify to make a large kitchen island! I hate buying new stuff when the old vintage stuff has so much charm and lasts forever! Fantastic blog, love love love it!

  19. I have run out of ways to say that your work is amazing! I need to learn a new language or something. But these are terrific! One thing - you forgot to credit your sister for doing the sanding (in the rain). I mean, not that she's keeping track or anything.... :)

    I'll sand for you anytime!
